Kahana Glass (My Mom's Jewelry!)

Welcome to my mom's Dichroic Glass Jewelry page! She will be featured in my shop for the 2026 festival season :) Every piece is unique and I only have 1 of each! Earring wires are surgical steel and barrettes are size small and large; small is for half up half down hair or smaller amounts, large can usually fit most hair for medium to large amounts!

As many of you saw on my Instagram, my mom started her fused glass business as a hobby (same as me!) in 2005 as an art project that was part of homeschool. Dichroic glass was actually a NASA experiment, originally designed to be a high tech protective coating on astronauts' helmets. When the art community got a hold of this in the mid 1900s, they went crazy for it!!! Everything she makes is hand cut and then fused together in a kiln.

When I was a teen, I dabbled in her glass and made some of my own art. She showed me the ropes of her creative process, keeping stock of things, making what people asked for, learning the transaction side of things, etc. My mom has been my main business role model for Crop It Like It's Hot! By the time I was 16, I was working the craft fairs with her and had my own mini creations in store with her! We had successfully built a business together :)

She has been selling her jewelry in stores and at craft fairs in our hometown for the past 20 years, and now that I have my own online shop, I wanted to share her art with our festival community! She makes earrings, pendents, barrettes, and more and they're all perfect for raves, everyday wear, Mother's Day gifts, etc!
